Keep some money on you — Kansai Airport to open “Japan’s largest duty-free UNIQLO”!

From now on, when traveling to Japan, remember to keep some yen for shopping at the airport before your departure. After previously announcing that 35 of its stores would offer tax-free services for foreign visitors, Japanese fashion brand UNIQLO has now announced it willopen the largest UNIQLO store in any Japanese airport inside Kansai International Airport. The new store is scheduled to officially open on March 27.

Starting in March, Kansai International Airport has begun a major renovation of Terminal 1. Seizing this opportunity, UNIQLO has designated a 450-square-meter space on the fourth floor of the terminal’s departure area to open a brand-new airport “Departure Area Store.”

According to UNIQLO, the “Departure Area Store” will be designed with the needs of overseas travelers in mind, using the expansive store space to offer a wide range of products suited to various climates and seasons around the world. While there is already a UNIQLO Kansai Airport store on the third floor of Terminal 1, only the new Departure Area Store on the fourth floor offers tax-free shopping.
