“Taiwan’s Only 360-Degree Panoramic Gathering Space” – Marriott Hotel to Open in Zhongzheng in July

The international hotel brand Marriott, under Marriott International, has announced its official entry into Taipei’s Zhongzheng district in July, located along the Keelung River. As Taiwan’s first Marriott-branded hotel, it will also feature a convention center designed to host APEC-level events, with a capacity of up to 1,200 people. The arrival of Marriott will further heat up Taipei’s international five-star hotel market.

According to Marriott, the Taipei Marriott Hotel is situated at the central hub of Zhongzheng. The overall design follows green building principles, with 60% of the area covered in greenery. The hotel features an abundance of green shrubs, including Acer buergerianum, camphor trees, Koelreuteria paniculata, sweet gums, cherry blossoms, red torch ginger, and hibiscus, creating an urban oasis feel. Guests can also enjoy views of distant mountains and the Taipei cityscape from their rooms.




The Taipei Marriott Hotel offers 320 elegantly designed guest rooms and 5 restaurants, along with a total of 908 ping (approx. 2,995 m²) of multifunctional event spaces. Among them, the 10-meter-high grand ballroom on the 5th floor spans 308 ping, making it the largest pillar-free meeting space among Taiwan’s star-rated hotels, with a capacity of up to 1,200 people. The Heavenly Ballroom on the 8th floor opens directly onto a sky garden, while the Panorama Ballroom on the 36th floor is currently the only venue in Taiwan offering a full 360-degree panoramic space — both are ideal for wedding banquets. Taipei Marriott Hotel states that current room rates range from NT$14,500 to NT$45,500, with the presidential suite priced separately.

Additionally, Taiwanese brand Lai Fung Group plans to introduce Marriott’s Courtyard by Marriott brand by the end of the year, making it the first international star-rated hotel in Nangang. With 465 rooms, Lai Fung Group CEO Chuang Feng-ju believes that besides being a newly developed business district and benefiting from integrated rail transport (MRT, TRA, and THSR), Nangang also aligns with the target demographic of “young professionals.” Courtyard by Marriott rooms are priced at NT$12,000 per night, with an average rate of around NT$4,500.
