The world’s largest water ride and biggest surfing beach — thrilling fun at Sunway Theme Park

For those who love theme parks, if you’re in Malaysia, besides LEGOLAND, you definitely shouldn’t missSunway Theme Park (SUNWAY), which features a water park, amusement park, extreme park, wildlife park, and horror park. Here you’ll find the world’s largest water ride “Woozoo,” the world’s biggest man-made surfing beach, and a so-called 5D sensory cinema — all for just 145 Malaysian Ringgit (around NT$1,300) for unlimited access.

Sunway Theme Park is currently divided into five major themed zones: the water park, amusement park, extreme park, wildlife park, and horror park. The wildlife park houses 150 species of animals, with many non-aggressive ones roaming freely without cages, allowing visitors to get up close. Other attractions in the park include a pet village, jungle trails, a bird aviary, tropical zone, treetop platform, butterfly valley, bird grassland, nature trail, Rimba Nature Class, and a village.

The water park is themed around African waters, offering thrilling splashes of excitement. The world’s largest water ride “Woozoo” is located here, measuring 22 meters wide and 158 meters long (from the start to the finish). Nearby “Woozoo,” there's Malaysia’s first 5D Waterplex, where in addition to wearing 3D glasses, water is also sprayed on visitors, ensuring you won’t leave “dry.” Additionally, the water park has the world’s largest man-made surfing beach, covering 13,000 square meters. Whether you’re a pro surfer or just looking to try it out, the artificial waves over 2 meters high will definitely let you enjoy the thrill of surfing.

For those who love extreme challenges, the extreme park offers various adrenaline-pumping activities, such as ATV rides, archery, flying fox, kayaking, paintball shooting, and trampoline jumping. If those don’t appeal, you can also try bungee jumping (130 MYR), G-Force X (60 MYR), Racing Extreme (20 MYR one-way, 25 MYR round-trip), and paintball battles (58 MYR per person).

Lynton V. Harris’ horror park has two levels, featuring special effects imported from Hollywood and terrifying experiences created by professionally trained actors. Outside the horror park, you’ll also find realistically made-up zombies walking around. As for the amusement park, there are plenty of rides to enjoy.

In addition to Sunway Theme Park, the adjacent Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall is shaped like a pyramid, with a giant Sphinx statue at the entrance. Whether it’s clothing or shoes, most international brands can be found here. Since the GP Shopping Festival started, discount signs are everywhere in the mall, with deals starting from as low as 30% off, and many clothing items at 50% off. There’s also a cinema, bowling alley, and ice-skating rink.
