EVA Air will launch its Taipei–Houston route on June 19 with its seventh Hello Kitty-themed aircraft. Today (30th), the airline held a press conference to announce that it will collaborate with Sanrio to hold the “EVA AIR Hello Kitty Shining Star Concert” at the National Concert Hall in Taipei and the Tainan Cultural Center. At the press conference, Hello Kitty and Dear Daniel were seen dancing the waltz—very cute.

EVA Air spokesperson Nie Guowei stated that the entire concert aims to help children get to know classical music through their favorite cartoon characters. In addition to performing well-known classical pieces, the EVA Air Symphony Orchestra will also adapt several Hello Kitty cartoon theme songs into symphonic arrangements. For example, the theme song will be paired with Johann Strauss II’s “The Blue Danube” and “Tales from the Vienna Woods.” The concert will open with the iconic Hello Kitty theme song “Welcome to Dream,” featuring Kitty, Daniel, and Sanrio dancers performing to the music, creating a joyful and colorful atmosphere.

Nie Guowei further explained that concerts will be held on May 9 and 17 at the National Concert Hall in Taipei and the Tainan Cultural Center, respectively, with a total of over 7,000 seats available. The concert venues will be decorated with elements from the Hello Kitty-themed aircraft, making attendees feel as if they’ve stepped into Hello Kitty’s world—with displays of in-flight items from the painted plane and merchandise sales areas.

EVA Air currently has a fleet of 65 aircraft. The seventh Hello Kitty-themed aircraft is expected to be completed in mid-May, with its official unveiling scheduled for June 15. The airline plans to maintain a fleet of seven Kitty-themed planes in the near future.
