All Kaohsiung Light Rail Trains are now here! The Kaohsiung City Mass Rapid Transit Bureau announced that the 9th train, which is also the final one for the first phase of the circular light rail, arrived at the intersection of Zhongshan and Kaisyuan Roads in Kaohsiung at 3 a.m. on the 11th. It was then unloaded at the C2 Kaisyuan Ruitian Station. In the future, it will join the static and dynamic testing together. The bureau also stated,that the trial operation is expected to begin by the end of August..

Each Kaohsiung light rail train can carry up to 250 passengers, including 64 seated and 186 standing. The first phase of the project includes 14 stations from C1 to C14, spanning approximately 8.7 kilometers, making it Taiwan's first light rail line to use a fully catenary-free power supply system. The Kaohsiung MRT Bureau stated that the first phase of the light rail will be completed and opened in sections. It is expected that the section from the light rail depot to C10 Station (Glory Pier) will be completed by the end of July, with trial operation starting by the end of August.

The bureau pointed out,that free rides will be offered to the public during the trial operation period.The 14 stations of the first phase are expected to be fully open by early 2016; the second phase is scheduled for completion in 2019.
