Enjoy Yunnan snacks and watch traditional dance performances – The Longgang Rice Noodle Festival kicks off on April 18

Longgang in Taoyuan is home to a unique Yunnan rice noodle cuisine and vibrant international food culture, as it was where the Yunnan-Burmese army settled after coming to Taiwan. To showcase this local charm, the Taoyuan City Government is hosting the Longgang Rice Noodle Festival on weekends from April 18 to 26.

Now in its fifth year, this year’s Longgang Rice Noodle Festival is being held at Yunnan Cultural Park. During the event period, 12 local rice noodle vendors will offer their signature menus, presenting a show of Yunnan-Burmese cuisine. The festival also includes cultural experience activities such as Lao Dao pulling, wheel spinning, and DIY silver jewelry making. On April 19, the day of the Water Splashing Festival, there will be a blessing water-splashing activity. Additionally, on the evening of April 25, the Torch Festival Bonfire Party will feature ethnic minority performers in gorgeous traditional attire dancing around bonfires to the beats of Yunnan’s distinctive “Da Ge” (group singing and dancing).
