While exploring attractions is an essential part of travel, thanks to the internet, more and more people make a special trip to see famous pets at their destinations. Take, for example, an unassuming cigarette shop in the Tokyo countryside that has become a popular spot simply because of a dog. Shiba Inu Shibaken (シバちゃん) is loved not only by Taiwanese travelers but also by Brits who fly for over ten hours just to meet him.

According to the UK’s Daily Mail, when no one is around, Shibaken naps under the counter. When customers arrive and the bell rings, he immediately springs up, slides open the window with his nose, and props himself up on his front paws to sell cigarettes, magazines, and snacks. Most of the time, he’s resting with his eyes closed, and lucky visitors can snap photos of him during his midday nap. He also enjoys munching on cucumbers while manning the shop.

Strictly speaking, he’s not just a pet but also a top-performing sales clerk.
