Taiwan's only 24-hour "New Taipei City Library New Main Branch" to begin trial operation on May 10

“New Taipei City Library New Main BranchIt pioneers Taiwan’s first-ever 24-hour non-stop concept, making this temple of books highly anticipated even before its opening. It was recently announced on the official fan page that trial operations will begin on May 10.

The New Taipei City Library New Main Branch is a diamond-rated, breathable green energy building. Its exterior looks like a stack of books piled high on green space. The library has 10 floors above ground and 3 below, and connects with a nearby park to form a strip-style reading plaza. It also features an outdoor reading area with terraces. It is not only a new paradise for readers but also a new green landmark that combines leisure and recreation.

The new main branch will begin its trial operation from May 10 to June 29. During the trial period, operating hours will follow those of the future official operation:The 1st floor lobby and the 4th floor study room will be open 24 hours. Other floors will be open daily from 8:30 AM to 9:00 PM. The last Thursday of each month and government-declared holidays are closure days. On such closure days, the previous day’s closing time will be 9:00 PM, and the reopening time the next day will be 8:30 AM.

However, during the trial operation period, every Monday (May 18, May 25, June 1, June 8, June 15, June 22, June 29) will be closed for mechanical and electrical maintenance and overall environmental improvement. The Dragon Boat Festival on June 20 will also be closed.

After the New Taipei City Library New Main Branch officially opens, the old main branch will continue to serve as a branch, providing book lovers with a well-rounded reading space.
