Tourism Center / Comprehensive Report
Shihfen Waterfall has been reopened to the public free of charge since the end of 2014, attracting countless visitors and also leading to a surge in vehicle traffic, which has sharply increased the demand for nearby parking. The New Taipei City Tourism and Travel Bureau announced that starting May 1, the parking lot at the Shihfen Visitor Center — the closest to Shihfen Waterfall Park — will begin charging fees.
The New Taipei City Tourism and Travel Bureau stated that in order to improve vehicle turnover and alleviate some of the parking demand, the Shihfen Visitor Center parking lot will start charging fees from May 1. The fee is NT$40 per hour, with the first 30 minutes free upon entry. Individuals with disabilities who present their original disability handbook, driver’s license, and vehicle registration certificate can enjoy two hours of free parking per day, and half-price rates for any time beyond that.
