Opened in Taipei in August 2014, located in Zhongzheng District near the Ximending shopping area, the hostel features a highly sci-fi and futuristic design that simulates a space capsule environment. Its proximity to Ximending and Taipei Main Station also makes it very convenient for daily life.

The manager of Space Capsule Hostel Space Inn said: “The reason we started this hostel was mainly because the concept was underdeveloped in Taiwan at the time, even though it had been around abroad for years. So we decided to open one in Taiwan, operating it by selling bed spaces. As for the style, since the location is in the basement without any external windows, we came up with the idea to design it like a space capsule. Also, with the rise of low-cost carriers and the trend of independent travel changing consumer behavior, accommodation itself is an expense. But if you can save a little on lodging, that savings can add up. For budget-conscious travelers, selling bed spaces is a very fitting business model.”

The hostel uses bunk beds for single occupancy and also provides free Wi-Fi, individual reading lamps, personal USB charging ports, and keycard-access lockers.

The hostel has separate shower rooms for men and women, located in their respective dormitory areas, controlled by an electronic access system — ensuring safety.

There is a lounge area with futuristic seating, shelves stocked with the latest magazines, a large TV, and a computer zone. On the other side of the lounge is also a gaming area, with large arcade machines for guests to enjoy. At Space Capsule Hostel, you won’t have to worry about facilities — everything is well provided. Free-to-use amenities include a coffee machine, oven, microwave, tableware, and more. There’s also a washer and dryer available for a fee.

2. First Class Hotel
Located in the Wanhua District, the First Class Hotel features an elegant and minimalist design. Its exterior resembles an airplane’s first-class cabin, and even the windows are made to look like airplane portholes. Guests can imagine they are resting inside a plane while staying at the hotel. It is close to the Ximending shopping district and the Wanhua area, allowing guests to explore nearby commercial zones.

The cozy First Class rooms feature airplane-style porthole windows on the walls, adding to the flying ambiance. The rooms are equipped with a 37-inch LCD flat-screen TV and also include double individual armchairs, enhancing the airplane experience.

3. NEOSOHO Work & Relax Capsule Hotel
NEOSOHO is a capsule business hotel, designed similarly to Japanese capsule accommodations with individual compartments. Each guest has their own private little space. Located in the Taipei Main Station area, it offers convenient transportation access and is ideal for travelers who prefer solitude. Each capsule is equipped with a magnetic card door lock, electronic safe, and a 2-meter-long breathable leather sofa.
