Collect 47 must-visit heritage sites — China Airlines launches the “Greater China World Heritage Passport”

The Greater China region is home to 47 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, second only to Italy globally. To promote travel to these cultural treasures, the national airline has launched the “Greater China World Heritage Travel Passport,” which highlights all 47 World Heritage Sites along with 18 potential ones in Taiwan. Holders of this passport can enjoy a discount on the second traveler’s fare starting from their second visit to China, with the chance to win a free ticket to any destination in mainland China.

To celebrate its 55th anniversary, China Airlines has specially created a limited-edition “Greater China World Heritage Travel Passport.” From now until October 31, 2015, customers who book any “Best of China” itinerary will receive one free passport. Only 1,200 copies are available, and each is uniquely numbered. The passport is valid from April 1, 2015, to the end of March 2020 — a total of five years. During this period, travelers who use the passport to join “Best of China” itineraries will receive a discount on the second traveler’s fare from their second trip onwards, and may even win a free ticket to any destination in mainland China.

China boasts one of the most comprehensive collections of World Heritage Sites and has the highest number of natural and cultural mixed heritage sites in the world. The capital city, Beijing, alone has seven World Heritage Sites — more than any other city globally. These include the iconic Great Wall, symbols of human civilization; landmarks such as the Forbidden City and the ancient town of Lijiang; picturesque attractions like the classical gardens of Suzhou; imperial culture sites like the Temple of Heaven; as well as martial arts-inspired destinations such as Wudang Mountain and Mount Emei; and the mysterious, ornate Potala Palace complex in Lhasa, rich in Tibetan Buddhist heritage. All are must-visit destinations for travelers.
