Body painting, limited giveaways – The opening event of the New Taipei Hakka Tung Blossom Festival kicks off in Tucheng

The New Taipei Hakka Tung Blossom Festival has reached its climax！On April 25, the grand main opening ceremony was held at Nantianmu Square in Tucheng. In addition to performances by multiple groups to liven up the atmosphere, there were also DIY activities, markets, and more for the public to enjoy！

The mountainous areas along Chengtian Road and Nantianmu Road in Tucheng District are currently in peak bloom with tung blossoms, making it one of the densest tung blossom spots in New Taipei City and well worth a visit for hikers. The Taiji Ridge Trail, Tucheng Ammunition Depot, Longquan Road, and Lijing Villa are also great locations for hikers and photography enthusiasts to admire the blossoms and take photos. At night, you might even spot the glow of fireflies in the mountains.

During the main opening event on April 25 and 26, performances were given by the Ten Drums Art Percussion Group, street dance group ODE, Hakka female group HKG, and singer Huang Yujuan, offering a series of exciting acts. There was also a “Human Tung Blossom Body Painting” activity and various DIY booths for the public to participate in. Additionally, attendees could collect a “Tung Blossom Viewing Stamp Fan” from the organizers. By collecting 4 stamps at 8 stamp points, participants could exchange them for one limited-edition exquisite gift. Supplies were limited and would be given out on a first-come, first-served basis.
