Although sales only begin on October 1, due to the limited initial stock and high demand from eager foodies, most of the Miyazaki beef set meals at Robin’s Grill
Steakhouse & Teppanyaki have already been almost fully booked. However, as another batch of wagyu is expected to arrive in mid-October, supply will become more stable. Given the high fat content of wagyu, Chef Chen Chun-sheng, executive chef of teppanyaki at Crystal Plaza, says less oil is used when grilling. As for how well-done is best? Chef Chen recommends medium-rare (about 50% cooked).

Japanese wagyu is known for its rich marbling and beautifully fine fat distribution, which releases an intense aroma as soon as it melts in your mouth. Wagyu grades in Japan are determined by meat color and fat distribution density, ranging from A1 to A5, with A5 being the highest and most expensive grade. Higher-grade wagyu features fine and evenly distributed marbling, delivering a burst of umami even with minimal cooking. The first batch of imported Japanese wagyu secured by Crystal Plaza is A5-grade Miyazaki champion beef.
