There's actually no best time to book flights—but in the U.S., avoid the super expensive Christmas and New Year period.

There are many articles online that teach people when to book flights to get the cheapest deals, but travelers who actually try it may find,that the lowest prices really have no set pattern, as they mainly depend on your destination, and ticket prices fluctuate constantly.However, according to a study by Kayak, there are still some methods—though the article is aimed at American travelers, Taiwan can still refer to some of the general directions and principles.

According to this study,if you're flying domestically, the cheapest time to book is 2–4 weeks before departure. For both domestic and international flights, flights departing on a Friday tend to be the cheapest. If you're traveling abroad, the most expensive tickets are on Mondays; but if you're flying to the U.S., Monday is actually the cheapest.

Demand is reflected in ticket prices,as certain periods are extremely expensive, such as the Christmas holiday between December 21 and March 20. Flights within the U.S. after Christmas are incredibly pricey. Early January is also expensive. If you can wait until mid- or late September to book, the prices will be much better;during the fall period from September 22 to December 21, prices also remain within a reasonable range.
