Take a boat ride on Kaohsiung’s Love River – Bring Mom along on Mother’s Day and get one person free

May 10, Mother’s Day, is approaching, and the Kaohsiung City Government Tourism Bureau is launching promotions to celebrate. On May 9 and 10, take the “Love River Gondola” with your mom and the second person (mom) goes free. The tourism bureau also recommends taking the “Airport Express Tourist Bus” to visit the Hongmao Port Cultural Park and admire the sunset views with your mom.

Director of the Tourism Bureau Hsu Chuan-sheng stated that the Love River gondolas operate between Zhongzheng Bridge and Jianguo Bridge. In addition to the existing six-seater boats, at the beginning of this year, 20-seater large gondolas were added, suitable for family group charters. This summer, the service will be extended to the Heart of Love River, themed as “water taxis,” connecting attractions such as Zhongdu Wetland, Hakka Cultural Park, and the Tower of Light, becoming a new highlight along Kaohsiung’s waterfront. On May 9 and 10, a special Mother’s Day promotion will be offered: mothers ride free when taking the “Love River Gondola” with their child, upon presenting an ID card or household registration document.

The “Airport Express Tourist Bus” operates every weekend and on national holidays in the Xiaogang area, offering onboard guided tours and convenient transport for visitors to easily explore the Hongmao Port Cultural Park. You can enjoy a romantic date with Mom at the rotating restaurant atop Hongmao Port’s High Character Tower, watching large ships enter the harbor and the sunset.
