HowToTrip News: HOTE Hotel Opens in Taichung, Featuring “Ah Qiu’s Big Fat Goose” Restaurant

The first four-star hotel in Taiping District, Taichung“HOTE Hotel”officially opened on the 15th. Adjacent to Freeway No. 74, the hotel offers guests easy access to the Shanhaikuan tourist area in just about half an hour. Taichung Mayor Lin Chia-lung noted that the municipal government has recently approved the registration and operation of 11 new hotels, along with construction permits for 12 residential hotels, while 63 others are currently under development. The establishment of HOTE Hotel will further boost local development.

Located on Yuxian Road in Taiping District, Taichung, the HOTE Hotel was built with an investment of NT$1.1 billion. In terms of transportation, aside from the conveniently accessible Freeway No. 74, the railway elevation project is set to be completed by the end of the year. The central government has also approved the extension of National Freeway No. 4 from Fengyuan to Tanzi and Taiping Districts. It is hoped that through integrated regional efforts, tourism in Taichung will see further growth.

The hotel features 13 floors and 220 finely appointed guest rooms, with styles ranging from garden to European. Amenities include a buffet breakfast restaurant, café, multifunctional meeting rooms, and a business center. The third-floor banquet hall also hosts the well-known“Ah Qiu’s Big Fat Goose”restaurant, delivering premium banquet services to the Taiping district.

Ye Qiang, chairman of the group, stated that the hotel aims not only to capture the Central Taiwan tourism market but also actively target individual travelers from Singapore, Malaysia, Southeast Asia, and domestic markets. The hotel has already achieved a 90% occupancy rate for June.

Industry insiders pointed out that major shareholders of HOTE Hotel include travel agencies, duty-free shops, jewelry and diamond retailers, and hotels, enabling the provision of one-stop services. Bookings for group stays have already reached a 90% occupancy rate through the end of the year.
