If you want to enjoy delicious, authentic Naples-style pizza, Taiwan’s first and only specialty store using a rock oven made in Naples to make Naples-style pizza is definitely worth recommending—PIZZERIA OGGI Tianmu branch near Zhishan MRT Station on the Red Line. Though the prices aren’t cheap, the ingredients are generous and substantial. You can choose from multiple types of crusts for the Naples-style pizza, allowing pizza lovers to enjoy a truly satisfying and authentic meal.

PIZZERIA OGGI has a total of three branches. On this day, Pingzi visited the Tianmu branch near Zhishan MRT Station. The other two are the Minquan branch on Minquan East Road near Zhongshan Junior High School Station, and the Dunhua branch on Dunhua South Road. PIZZERIA means a specialty pizza store in Italian, and OGGI means “today.” Together, the name conveys the wish that customers can enjoy the freshest pizza every day. These delicious freshly baked pizzas have all passed the certification of the Naples Pizza Association, through strict selection of ovens and ingredients. This dedication allows Pingzi to enjoy the most authentic Naples-style pizza—and right here in Taiwan. What a joy.

Before even entering the store, you can see the open kitchen at the entrance where chefs are preparing food.

The floor tiles at the entrance are specially arranged, even featuring the brand name—very thoughtful.

There’s also an informational sign on the glass door.

Upon arriving at PIZZERIA OGGI Tianmu branch, we must first introduce that it is the first store in Taiwan to be certified by the Naples Pizza Association AVPN. It was founded by Chef Xie Yirong, who has worked at Grand Hyatt, Regent Taipei, and Taipei Marriott Hotel as a Western cuisine head chef. It is a Naples-style pizza specialty store and the only one in Taiwan using a rock oven made in Naples to make Naples-style & Roman-style pizzas.

The store isn’t large. As you enter, the right side features an open kitchen. The front section is where chefs make pizza dough, and the back part serves drinks and salads. The left side is the dining area, including bar stools. At the back is a larger seating area. The overall ambiance is styled with Italian décor, featuring European flair, wooden tables, and chairs.

The open kitchen area is clearly visible nearby.

Near the entrance, you can see the only rock oven made in Naples used to make pizzas in all of Taiwan. This million-dollar stone oven is the key to making delicious pizza. The stone kiln can control two different temperatures simultaneously, which is also crucial for creating great pizza.

The Naples Pizza Association has strict requirements for ingredients and techniques, such as: Italian 00-grade flour, water with a pH value of 6-7 (mineral water), natural sea salt, fresh yeast, high-quality machines imported from Italy specifically for kneading dough, hand-stretched dough, oven temperature of 400–450 degrees, baking time of 60–90 seconds, Italian fresh buffalo mozzarella and specified Italian tomatoes... and more. All strictly adhere to the AVPN (Italian Naples Pizza Association) standards. Information sourced from the PIZZERIA OGGI official website.

The walls are covered with photos and images, creating a warm, familial atmosphere—so cheerful.

Although the PIZZERIA OGGI Tianmu branch is not as large as the Minquan or Dunhua branches, it is the original flagship store. Though a bit cramped, it feels cozy and full of character. The shop uses a lot of wood tones and brick walls, along with European countryside design elements to showcase its quality.

There are many sauces on the table, and staff will recommend which sauce pairs best with your pizza for the optimal flavor.

PIZZERIA OGGI offers a diverse and rich menu, with elegant wooden board displays. Just looking at the images makes you want to try everything. You can ask the staff for recommendations, or check out the detailed info on their official website:http://www.pizzeria-oggi.com/menu.php.

There are many crust options for the pizzas here, so you can choose based on your flavor preference. The main difference between Roman and Naples-style pizzas is the crust. Naples pizza has a slightly thicker crust, while Roman-style is softer and crispier—the opposite of Naples. So it depends on your preferred pizza texture.

If you’re unsure, the staff will gladly help you choose. For example, the store’s No.1 bestseller is the Parma Ham and Arugula Pizza (Naples-style), and No.2 is the Seafood Pizza (Roman-style)—both popular picks.

They also offer set meals for 2 or 4 people, for easy pairing.

Though the set prices aren’t cheap, the recommended pizzas come in generous portions, making them great value.

On this visit, we sat at the bar area on high stools, watching the open kitchen prepare delicious dishes.

The water glasses on the table were filled with lemon water.

The utensils were mainly knives and forks, following Western dining style.

On this visit, Pingzi and her family of two ordered the Squid Ink Seafood Pizza – Frutti di mare con Ink – priced at 580 TWD (plus 10% service charge). It was loaded with plenty of mozzarella, squid ink sauce, Hokkaido scallops, shrimp, squid, New Zealand mussels, sun-dried tomatoes, black olives, basil, and oregano. Just looking at it was comforting.

You can see the depth of the pizza crust on the side.

The Squid Ink Seafood Pizza – Frutti di mare con Ink uses a Roman-style crust, which is thin and crispy—like a cracker in texture. It’s the store’s second most popular item. The pizza is topped with real squid ink sauce, giving it a rich black color, along with plenty of black olives. The sauces are well-balanced, making the pizza incredibly flavorful and achieving the perfect harmony between crust and seafood. This flavor pairs especially well with the spicy oil made in-store—highly recommended.

On top, you can see plenty of scallops and shrimp, giving off a strong oceanic flavor. Just looking at the generous fillings, you’ll notice the seafood has no fishy taste at all, which made Pingzi feel very satisfied.

No matter which branch you go to, business is booming here on holidays, so it’s recommended to make a reservation in advance. Although the prices aren’t cheap, being able to enjoy a delicious Neapolitan pizza is such a joyful thing. A great place like PIZZERIA OGGI is perfect for family gatherings or company events, where everyone can enjoy a variety of culinary atmospheres. If you’re in a larger group, Pingzi recommends visiting the Minquan or Dunhua branches of PIZZERIA OGGI.
