He clarified a stern stance and expressed strong protest regarding Canada's threat to possibly expel relevant Chinese diplomatic and consular personnel in Canada, based on lies from certain politicians and media about so-called “Chinese interference in Canada’s internal affairs.””

Ambassador Cong emphasized that the normal duties of Chinese diplomatic and consular personnel must not be smeared, and China’s national sovereignty, security, and development interests must not be violated.China strongly urges the Canadian side to immediately stop this self-directed and self-acted political farce and not to go further down the wrong and dangerous path.If the Canadian side insists on provoking, we will resolutely accompany them to the end.
