Following the life-sized Gundam installations in Odaiba (related report) and Yokohama (related report), another new full-scale mobile suit is set to make its debut. BANDAI NAMCO has announced plans to install a full-scale Nu Gundam (Gundam RX-93ν) in Fukuoka City, Kyushu, Japan, with an expected launch in spring 2022.

The Fukuoka Nu Gundam will be situated within the grounds of Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport Fukuoka (currently not yet open). This mobile suit is based on the “RX-93 ν Gundam,” which first appeared in the 1988 animated film *Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack*. The 1:1 scale Nu Gundam will also feature a newly added weapon — the “long-range funnel” — and a new color scheme designed by *Mobile Suit Gundam* anime director Yoshiyuki Tomino. The tri-color design symbolizes peace. The Gundam is also planned to include unique mechanical mechanisms that, when combined with lighting, will create a dynamic viewing experience.

Meanwhile, BANDAI NAMCO also plans to open Gundam Park Fukuoka within the Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport Fukuoka complex. This park will combine open spaces with entertainment facilities featuring Gundam elements, offering visitors an immersive experience in the Gundam universe. It will be the newest Gundam-themed park in Japan. More details will be announced at a later date.
