On a sweltering summer day, just seeing green plants has a psychological cooling effect. Add to that a pool of crystal-clear water with carp swimming leisurely, and no matter how hot it is, the heat will instantly vanish. Japanese photographer @teranu_photo shared a set of photos featuring lush green trees and clear pools, which looked like a fairyland and earned him 95,000 likes and over 20,000 reposts.

This mysterious fairyland is unfamiliar even to many Japanese netizens. Later, he revealed in an interview with local media that the shooting location was Diverugen Benten Pond in Sano City, Tochigi Prefecture (pronounced "Reiki" in Cantonese). The spring water flowing from the cracks of ancient limestone layers remains at around 16°C year-round and is extremely clear, allowing people on the ground to see the shimmer of the carp's scales and the swaying aquatic plants at the bottom. This spring has now been selected as one of Japan’s "Top 100 Famous Waters," proving its water quality and surrounding scenery are among the best.

According to meteorological data, the temperature in Sano City at 6 a.m. was 26.3°C. Although the photos look very cool, @teranu_photo described the weather as "very hot."

On that day, @teranu_photo brought his Nikon D750 and Fujifilm X-T3 to take photos. Aware that Diverugen Benten Pond is famous for its clear water, he focused on capturing its transparency. Additionally, he incorporated sunlight into the composition. The morning sun filtering through the trees adds a mystical feel to the images.

As a native of Ibaraki Prefecture, @teranu_photo loves photographing the beautiful scenery of his hometown. He was very happy to receive positive feedback from netizens for traveling to the neighboring Tochigi Prefecture to take these photos. Although many netizens felt the photos resembled the spirit forest from the movie *Princess Mononoke*, giving off a sense of divine presence, he had not considered this angle at all beforehand and believed it was just a coincidence.
