The Central Epidemic Command Center announced on April 19 that there were 22 new domestic COVID-19 (Wuhan pneumonia) cases, with 21 (19 male, 2 female) all infected on the Pan Shi military ship. One case was an imported infection from the United States, arriving in Taiwan on the 17th. The Command Center will disclose the footprints and movements of relevant personnel. In addition to sending text messages to those involved, it will also ask local governments to disinfect related areas.

A spokesperson for the navy at the press conference also apologized to the public, expressing regret over the military's failure to implement adequate epidemic prevention measures, as well as sympathy to the families of the infected service members, pledging to handle the situation with full effort.

The total number of confirmed cases in Taiwan has now reached 420. There are 24 confirmed officers and trainees from the Dunmu Fleet, and their movements after disembarking have drawn particular attention. The Command Center has begun investigating contact history and movement details, and will later announce locations that require caution. The public with related movements should also pay extra attention and report as necessary.
