The Taichung Film Fun in Season – Watch Free Movies and Win Airline Tickets

Summer is the perfect time to enjoy a movie, and the “2011 Taichung Film Fun in Season,” held by Taichung City, will run from August 13 to October 29 with 25 movie screenings across ten administrative districts, including six large outdoor shows. After watching the movies, audiences can enter a lucky draw using their ticket stubs. Prizes include round-trip air tickets between Taichung and India for two, fragrant products from Hebo Garden, and Indian travel books – giving people the chance to experience Bollywood dance performances and local cuisine in India.

This year’s event theme is “Indian Bollywood.” The opening and closing performances also feature special acts by the ICCR Odissi Dance Troupe from India and the Butterfly Dance Center from Taichung, among others, bringing spectacular performances to the audience. Moviegoers are welcome to join on-site and enjoy the luxurious and passionate Indian dance and music.

In addition to Indian-themed films, there are also various categories such as domestic productions, family-friendly movies, spiritual experiences, and popular blockbusters. A number of free lectures and hands-on workshops are also offered, including sessions led by travel expert Jian Yi-wen and Chen Jing-yuan, founder of the Taiwan Holistic Yoga Association, who will share insights about India’s culture and information. There will also be a talk by director Yang Li-zhou, whose hit domestic films include “Cheerful Youth Cheer Squad” and “Forgotten Times.” The public is welcome to join.
