Taipei is home to many distinctive tourist attractions. The Taipei City Government’s Department of Information and Tourism has partnered with nine cable TV stations to launch the “Taipei Unexplored – A Century of Charm Revived” series of events, which kicked off on the 24th. The series includes special feature reports, online sharing of travel experiences, and the “FUN Heart Taipei” stamp-collecting lottery. Members of the public who collect stamps at designated attractions before December 5 will have a chance to win major prizes such as an iPad2, a GF2 camera, or a folding bicycle.

One of the recommended attractions is Huashan 1914 Creative Park. (Photo provided by Maker Editing Room)

A total of 25 episodes introducing Taipei’s tourist attractions, each 5 minutes long, have been produced by Changde Cable TV. The content covers eight major themes: classic old shops, temple tours, nostalgia meets innovation, Taipei cuisine, city memories, mountain hiking trails, healthy living, and hidden gems. The 13 recommended attractions include Ximending Red House, Maokong Gondola Zoo Station, Maokong Gondola Muzha Station, Rixin Foundry, YJ Tea, Lin Liuxin Puppetry Memorial Hall, Taipei Home, Huashan 1914 Creative Park, Celebrity Café, Treasure Hill Artist Village, City God Temple of Xiamei, Beitou Cultural Artifacts Museum, and Beitou Hot Spring Museum.

The special feature videos will be aired from October 24 to November 25, Monday to Friday. The citywide Cable TV Channel 3 “Public Channel,” as well as Channels 4 on Changde, Vantage, and Ligate cable networks, will broadcast at 6:00 PM. Channels 4 on Yangmingshan, New Taipei, Golden Channel, and Da’an Wenshan cable networks will air at 7:00 PM, while Channels 4 on Lianwei and Baofu cable networks will show them at 6:30 PM.
