The “Bidding farewell to 100 and welcoming 101” North Coast Fugui Cape New Year’s Eve Carnival will be held from December 31, 100 (2011), to January 1, 101 (2012). In addition to enjoying the comfortable warmth of the local hot springs, visitors can also sign up at designated locations with participating hot spring operators to take a free shuttle bus to Fugui Cape Lighthouse for the carnival activities at 3:00 PM on December 31 and 4:30 AM on January 1. The nearby Tienlai Hot Spring Resort is also recruiting Christmas “nude” grandpas—just wear red swim trunks or a swimsuit between December 23 and January 1 to enjoy the icy hot spring for just 101 NT.

Besides watching the last sunset of the year 100 or the first sunrise of the year 101 at the carnival site, there will also be spectacular nighttime stunt kite shows and African drum performances. Limited-edition coupons for the icy hot spring, sponsored by Tienlai Hot Spring Resort, along with blessed hot spring tamagoyaki (Japanese rolled omelets) will be given out—101 sets in total!
