Lin Yichen, who loves champagne roses, today attended the press conference for the “2012 Flowers in Changhua” series of events wearing a champagne-colored dress adorned with a rose-patterned skirt, and together with Changhua County Magistrate Cho Po-yuan, who played the role of “Da Ren Ge,” experienced DIY flower arranging. The public can also, just like “Cheng Youqing,” experience various flower and folk art DIY activities at the Changhua Flower Exhibition starting from the first day of the Lunar New Year (January 23)!

Changhua County leads Taiwan in both flower production and cultivation area. This year, coinciding with the Year of the Dragon in the lunar calendar, a 3-meter-tall dragon-themed flower display themed “Prosperity of the Dragon” will be set up in Xizhou Park, which spans over 20 hectares. Surrounding it are four adorable small flower dragons named “Prosperity,” “Wealth,” “Longevity,” and “Happiness.”

Changhua County Magistrate Cho Po-yuan said, “This is the largest creative flower and farming arts exhibition in Taiwan, featuring flowers all grown locally in Changhua and arranged creatively by farmers. The exhibition hall will also showcase the latest varieties of eustoma and chrysanthemums. In addition to Xizhou Park, nearby areas such as Tianwei Highway Garden, Beidou Food Street, Zhongxing Valley Castle Rice Museum, and Wanjing Art Garden will also serve as major activity zones for ‘Flowers in Changhua’ this year.”

The main venue, Xizhou Park, is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. In addition to various stage performances and local specialty product sales, there will be a hot air balloon flight show twice a day in the morning and afternoon (times subject to weather and wind direction). Additionally, art flower floats and horse-drawn carriage parades are scheduled at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Moreover, during the event period, Changhua County has prepared 99,999 saplings to be given away free of charge to visitors. The flower exhibition runs until February 5—don’t miss out.

Additionally, traffic management measures have been arranged outside Xizhou Park, and shuttle buses are available. The public is encouraged to make use of them. For more details, please visit the official event website: ch-flower2012.com.
