The “2012 Carrefour Culture and Arts Season” touring program, which has already received an enthusiastic response from the public with performances by Ten Drums Art Percussion Group in Tainan in January and the If Kids Theatre in Kaohsiung in February, will continue on March 24 (Saturday) featuring Ten Drums Art Percussion Group at the Yuanman Outdoor Theater in Taichung City. The group will present their annual masterpiece “Ten Drums Splendor,” which is free to the public.

Ten Drums Art Percussion Group is one of Taiwan’s premier drumming ensembles, with works that have been nominated for the Grammy Awards in the United States. Their performance of “Ten Drums Splendor” will feature a collection of the group’s classic hits and albums over the years, delivering earth-shaking and soul-stirring performances. These include “Order the Generals,” inspired by the imagery of the Eight Generals; “Crushing the Linked Horses,” adapted from the story of Song Jiang defeating the linked cavalry in Water Margin; and “Chasing the Deer — Reflecting Mingtan,” based on the ancestral legend of the Thao people around Sun Moon Lake. The percussion combines dance and drama, along with stunning sound and light effects, showcasing Taiwan’s diverse artistic expressions and the powerful resonance of drumming.
