The "Encounter the Great Future – Earth’s Environmental Changes" special exhibition, hosted by the National Taiwan Museum and running until October 14, employs virtual reality, immersive experiences, and cultural creativity to present three main themes: "For Modern Living – The Footprints of Urban Hunters," "For Truth Seekers – Experiments on Global Warming," and "For the Future – A Script of Tomorrow." Drawing lessons from the course of past human civilizations, it aims to encourage reflection on the current challenges facing the planet, grasp potential future trends, and guide the public to face the "future world" with an optimistic and proactive attitude.

In addition, the museum will host the “2012 Taipei Earth Day” Green Art Market on the museum square for two days starting April 13. The event features four major themes: “Food and Diet,” “Energy and Production,” “Ecology and Land,” and “Renewal and Restoration.” It also includes activities such as “Lawn Lecture Theater,” “Earth Music Concert,” “Earth Cinema,” “Future Encounters Film Festival,” and “Snap & Act: Earth Defense Station.” Admission to the museum is free for both days during the event.

The National Taiwan Museum is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. Full-price tickets are NT$20, and half-price tickets are NT$10. A single ticket allows entry to both museums. Other concurrent exhibitions include the "Digital Time Machine – Stories of Those Years Special Exhibition" (until May 27) and the "Herbal Plants and Life Special Exhibition" (until July 29). The Land Bank Exhibition Hall (diagonally opposite the National Taiwan Museum) features permanent exhibits such as the "Paleontological Grand Exhibition ~ The Epic of Life and the Dance of Evolution," the "Land Bank Historic Restoration Room," and the "Land Bank History Room." For details on all activities, visit the museum’s official website at www.ntm.gov.tw or call 02-2382-2566.
