On March 20, the Spanish Ministry of Health announced that due to the rapid spread of COVID-19 (formerly known as the Wuhan pneumonia) in Spain, the ministry has required all hotel operators in the country to vacate all guests by March 26. No accommodation services will be provided after that until the "state of alarm" ends. Since March 17, Spain has closed all land borders, allowing only foreigners with residence permits to enter.

Vietnam – In response to the epidemic, on March 21, entry control measures were announced. Starting from 00:00 on March 22, the entry of all foreigners into Vietnam has been suspended. All Vietnamese descendants and their relatives who had been granted visa exemption certificates have also had their entry suspended starting from 00:00 on March 22.

Other foreigners entering for official or diplomatic purposes, those with special permission, Vietnamese citizens holding diplomatic passports, and other entrants for various special purposes—such individuals will be issued visas by the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and Ministry of National Defense in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Health, and relevant authorities (if necessary), and will follow regulations to fill out health declarations, undergo medical checks, and be appropriately quarantined in designated residential areas.

Countries banning the entry of foreign nationals include Australia, New Zealand, Spain, Russia, Ukraine, Egypt, Vietnam, the Philippines, Malaysia, Honduras, Panama, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, Kenya (banning entry of people from affected countries), Ecuador, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Montenegro, and Jordan, among others. The number of such countries continues to rise, and the specific special permission entry procedures also vary.

South Korea is currently under a "special entry procedure." Starting from 00:00 on March 19, 2020, a "special entry procedure" has been implemented for all incoming travelers. All travelers must undergo temperature checks before entry, fill out a health status questionnaire and a special quarantine declaration form, provide their Korean address and a contactable mobile phone number, download a self-diagnosis app, and truthfully report their health status daily.

Haiti and Belize are also experiencing domestic instability and are under a state of emergency. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises against traveling to these destinations.

Regarding the duration of stay for foreign nationals in Taiwan

In response to various countries implementing border and flight restrictions due to the novel coronavirus pneumonia (Wuhan pneumonia), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also announced that for all foreign nationals who entered Taiwan before and including March 21, 2020, under visa-free, visa-on-arrival, or stay visa status, and whose stay period has not yet expired, their allowable duration of stay in Taiwan will be automatically extended by 30 days without the need for a separate application, but the total stay shall not exceed 180 days. This measure will be reviewed and adjusted according to the development of the epidemic.

On March 20, the National Immigration Agency of the Ministry of the Interior announced the launch of an “Expanded Voluntary Reporting Program for Overstaying Foreign Nationals,” offering leniencies such as no detention, no restrictions on the duration of stay in Taiwan, and minimal fines for those who voluntarily report during the publicity period and the program period (from March 20 to June 30).
