The annual Changhua “Wanggong Harbor Night Fishing Festival” will kick off this Saturday (28th) at Wanggong Fishing Port in Fangyuan Township. This year’s event features five main themes: an ocean music concert, spectacular fireworks show, Wanggong Story House, delicious seafood banquet, and a blessing carnival. The two-day event has invited hosts such as Xiao Zhong, Cong Cong, Pei Zhen, and Huang Xiaorou, and will feature a 10-minute fireworks display starting at 7:30 pm each evening.

The lineup of performers at the fishing festival includes Amber An, Show Lo Ma Ya, the Won Fu Band, Yen Jui, Tofu Pai, Lin Fan, Power Station, Juliette Zhu, Cao Ya Wen, Chemical Monkeys, Tseng Jing Wen, Fang Jung Bin, and Huang Wen Xing, promising an exciting performance. Additionally, there will be a spectacular fireworks show from 7:30 to 7:40 pm both nights, with the theme “Summer Romance at Wanggong – The Song of Oysters” on July 28, and “Dragon Soaring Over Changhua – Dazzling Starry Sky” on July 29. This year, the Wanggong Oyster Culture is showcasing the Wanggong Story House at the Wanggong Fishing Port Direct Sales Center, offering visitors deeper insight into the development of Wanggong Fishing Port and the history of Taiwan’s maritime migration.

Beyond the vibrant activities at Wanggong Fishing Port, the blessing carnival led by the local faith center Fuhai Temple gathers talent and folk performances from schools along Changhua’s west coast, highlighting the area’s rich cultural depth. To facilitate visitor transportation, shuttle buses run approximately every 15 minutes during the event, traveling between the festival venue and Fuhai Temple.
