The “2012 Tainan Qigu Sightseeing Blood Clam Park” series of events is set to begin tomorrow (28th) and run until August 19. From 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM every Saturday and Sunday, the “Qigu Sightseeing Blood Clam Park” series of activities will take place at the Qigu Liukong Pier. In addition to free admission, limited-edition giveaways will be offered on the opening day, July 28, including one pack of blood clams, one pair of children's socks, and one free entry ticket to the Tiger Head Pond Scenic Area—200 sets of each—given to participating visitors. The event focuses on “Clam Digging Fun” and “Seafood Festival” as its main themes, complemented by surrounding activities such as a “Fishing Village Specialty Market,” “Sunset Wellness Concerts,” and “Water Recreation Activities.” Visitors can enjoy music, watch the sunset, paddle small boats, and savor delicious seafood, making for a wonderful eco-friendly summer seaside trip in Tainan.

To promote Tainan Qigu’s fishery tourism and fresh seafood, continuing last year’s highly praised seafood feast, a “HAPPY Thousand-Person Banquet” will be held at 6:30 PM on August 11 in front of the Longshan Temple Plaza. Each table of ten lavish dishes is priced at NT$3,999. Table reservations are now open, with booking hotlines 04-2225-9233 and 06-787-5061. The event will also feature a “Happy Concert,” including performances by a jazz big band, nostalgic local songs, Sichuan opera face-changing, acrobatics and variety acts, as well as dance performances by the Daliao Community’s Black-Faced Spoonbill Angels.

Tainan Mayor Lai Qingde emphasized that Tainan’s coastal area is a truly beautiful place, with picturesque salt fields, lagoons, fresh and lively seafood, and rich cultural heritage—offering reasons to attract tourists year-round. Upcoming events include the “Peaceful Salt Festival,” “White Christmas Night,” and the year-end “Salt Field Sunset Send-off,” ensuring a full calendar of activities in the coastal region throughout the year.
