Food Republic, a popular food brand under Singapore-listed group BreadTalk, which has successfully entered Banqiao Big City and Taichung Big City, will once again celebrate the grand opening of its Dazhi flagship store on December 15. The BreadTalk Group, which currently operates over 38 food spaces globally, made a major push into Taiwan’s F&B market last year. Food Republic General Manager Tsai Chen-shih stated: “Despite the current economic climate, Food Republic’s operations remain quite solid. We plan to open one new store per year, aiming to reach 10 stores by 2016!”

Skilled at creating immersive dining experiences, Food Republic uses a cultural and creative space design concept to recreate the ambiance of early 19th-century Taiwan, such as the Jinguashi Crown Prince Guesthouse, Dihua Street, and the Sanxia Old Street. For example, they spared no expense in laying a mosaic floor with handcrafted Hakka floral patterns. Food Republic has brought in numerous well-known F&B outlets, such as: “Toast Box,” an international brand selling rich traditional Southeast Asian coffee and crispy yet soft toast; Hong Kong-style dim sum teahouse “Hong Kong Canteen,” offering authentic roast meat rice that stays true to “Stephen Chow’s” original flavor — not only using rooster bowls for the “Lost Love” rice, but also serving thick honey-glazed char siu atop a runny sunny-side-up egg, making diners feel like they’re in a Hong Kong movie. Other offerings include Italian cuisine “Mamak,” Japanese ramen “Royal Ramen,” premium South Asian mountain flavors “Tamarind Nepalese Curry,” and Thai creative cuisine “Thai Yummi,” among a total of 28 vendors.

The Dazhi flagship store is scheduled to open at 10:30 AM on Saturday, December 15. A variety of consumer-friendly promotions will be held on-site, including “just 10 dollars” queue items and challenge games with thousands of free drinks given away. There will also be appearances by nostalgic comic character Old Master Q, entertaining guests and bringing back old memories, allowing consumers to go home filled with nostalgia.
