The “Prometheus,” jointly produced by the 2013 Kaohsiung Spring Arts Festival and the National Theater & Concert Hall International Arts Festival, is set to premiere on March 30 (Saturday) at the Zhidé Hall of the Kaohsiung Cultural Center. The performance will be directed by Theodoros Terzopoulos, the show’s director and a celebrated contemporary Greek theater director as well as the founder of the Attis Theatre. All actors and backstage crew will take part in a final dress rehearsal before the official show.

Prometheus, who brought fire to humanity and ignited civilization, was punished eternally for his deed. Yet his prophetic insight that Zeus would one day be overthrown, along with his unwavering spirit of sacrifice and acts of defiance, weave together to form a deeply moving political drama.

Having just completed its Taipei run and sparked intense discussion among critics and audiences alike, “Prometheus” takes on a unique character wherever it is performed. To witness the intensity of the Attis Theatre director stepping into the role of the chorus leader, and to experience how the theater portrays the struggle against oppressive power, don’t miss the final performance in Taiwan on March 30 (Saturday) at Kaohsiung’s Zhidé Hall. This powerful staging of “The Fight for Freedom” promises to be unforgettable. For details, visit the official website: www.ksaf.com.tw.
