Over the past 10 months, 18 million passengers from more than 100 countries participated in the world's largest airline passenger survey, and Lufthansa stood out in this survey, winning three awards at the 2013 Skytrax World Airline Awards: "Best First Class Lounge," "Best Western European Airline," and "Best Transatlantic Airline." Among them, Lufthansa's First Class Terminal at Frankfurt Airport was particularly popular among the survey participants.

In addition, Lufthansa's first class lounges in Frankfurt and Munich also ranked highly. According to Skytrax, the First Class Terminal and lounges highlight the high standards and premium quality of Lufthansa’s products, services, and facilities. Skytrax also emphasized that Lufthansa being named "Best Western European Airline" and "Best Transatlantic Airline" fully demonstrates that its high standards meet passengers' needs.

"We are constantly striving to provide better and more comfortable service for our passengers. The Skytrax Awards affirm our investment in passenger experience and staff training. With our unique First Class Terminal at Frankfurt Airport, we offer tailored, high-end ground services, and we are pleased to see that passengers recognize our service," said Reinhold Huber, Senior Vice President of Product & Marketing at Lufthansa. "Our ongoing Business Class renewal program invests one million euros every day. In addition, we are working to enhance our in-flight entertainment system and introduce more innovative products, such as FlyNet (in-flight internet service), currently available only on long-haul flights. Our next clear goal is to become the first Skytrax five-star airline in Western Europe by 2015." Reinhold Huber added.
