The joyful, hopeful, childlike, and enthusiastic 2013 New Taipei City Happy Christmas Town has launched its oversized transparent Happy Christmas Bear promotional bus, which is now roaming around major commercial areas and crowded spots in the Greater Taipei region. With a highly eye-catching Christmas design, it carries 400 Christmas commemorative bears, snowmen, and Santa Claus to spread festive cheer throughout the Greater Taipei area.

New Taipei City’s Happy Christmas Town will officially light up and open on November 22. This year, for the first time, it introduces a bear promotional bus featuring a transparent display window. The bus carries 400 specially made 7-inch plaid Christmas commemorative bears, accompanied by snowmen and Santa Claus, to kick off the holiday spirit in the Greater Taipei region this weekend. From now until November 22, the Happy Christmas Bear promotional bus will run daily from 13:00 to 17:00 and 19:00 to 23:00 on weekdays, and from 13:30 to 17:30 and 18:30 to 22:30 on weekends. It will pass through major bustling commercial districts in New Taipei City and Taipei City, including the Xinyi District, National Taiwan University, Gongguan District, Ximending, Taipei Main Station, Zhongshan District, East District, Banqiao MEGA CITY, and Fuzhong District.

Last year, New Taipei City’s Happy Christmas Town released various Christmas bear souvenirs. This year, the design has been innovated again with the rare introduction of plaid-patterned Christmas bears in pink-blue and peach-pink colors – available only as giveaways, not for sale. The 7-inch Christmas commemorative bears can be seen not only on the transparent promotional buses but also starting November 22, an 800-bear “Bear Forest” Christmas installation will greet the public at the B1 plaza of Banqiao Station. In the future, the New Taipei City Government plans to launch a lucky draw to give away bears, with details to be announced on the event’s official website.
