In December, Tokyo is undoubtedly a place overflowing with Christmas cheer. All the major shopping malls showcase Christmas trees and dazzling light displays, and the vibrant international hotspot Omotesando adorns its roadside trees with twinkling star-like lights. The romantic scene envelops everyone, filling the air with a magical ambiance that draws many to capture the moment with their phones and cameras.

It’s worth noting that during the Christmas light display period, pedestrian access to the overpass is usually restricted to prevent people from lingering to take night photos. The stretch of lights from the Meiji-dori entrance to the Aoyama-dori entrance features Omotesando Hills as a key highlight of the festive illumination. The popular destination “TOKYU PLAZA,” which opened in April 2012, not only boasts an outdoor garden Christmas tree installation on the 6th floor that attracts a continuous stream of visitors eager to snap photos, but also offers a special HAPPY LOUNGE open-air café on the 2nd floor, where guests can relax and admire the twinkling Christmas light views of Omotesando.
