Themed “Water,” this year’s Melbourne Food & Wine Festival will take place from February 28 to March 16, presenting over 200 rich and exciting celebrations tailor-made for global gourmets, expressing gratitude to the origin of all things—water. Inspired by water, creative structures will dot the Yarra River; endless delicacies and fine wines will be on display; world-class masters in cuisine and beverages will offer exclusive sessions; irresistible aromas wafting from hidden alleys, along with a constant stream of festivities, will gradually elevate this gastronomic carnival to new heights.

The main venue of the festival—the Queensbridge Square by the Yarra River—will feature an exclusively designed immersive three-tiered space during the event. Top chefs will employ various water-based cooking techniques, presenting East-meets-West global flavors through the concept of Chinese dim sum and exquisite culinary skills. On the Yarra River, bars aboard floating vessels will sway gently with the ripples, exuding the aroma of wine, while Melbourne’s rising mixologists craft special cocktails inspired by the three states of water for the festival. The Rain Garden will share eco-friendly knowledge about water collection, filtration, and recycling, creating a green Food & Wine Festival. A cloud-shaped canopy, “suspended” above the abandoned railway bridge parallel to Sandridge Bridge, along with drought-resistant plants beneath, decorates the third tier. Lush vegetation under a sky-like canopy covers the entire immersive space, adding even more dimension.
