There’s a new way to experience Hong Kong travel—Star Cruises will deploy its flagship vessel in Asia, the “SuperStar Virgo,” to Hong Kong for six months of homeport sailings, launching routes such as Hong Kong–Taiwan, Hong Kong–Sanya–Ha Long Bay, and Hong Kong’s two-day one-night joyful ocean holiday. Of these, 31 sailings will call at Taiwan, where travelers can choose to embark or disembark at Keelung, Taichung, or Kaohsiung. Special promotional offers for Taiwanese travelers include the “Value First Sailing Deal under NT$10,000” and the “Free Second Cruise for Virgo Constellation Passengers.””There are also two celebratory promotions: the “Value First Sailing Deal under NT$10,000” and the “Free Second Cruise for Virgo Constellation Passengers.”

During the period from April 7 to October 26, the SuperStar Virgo will operate 31 round trips between Taiwan and Hong Kong. Taiwanese travelers can opt for a “sea-air” journey—taking the SuperStar Virgo from Taiwan to Hong Kong and then flying back on China Airlines—or an “air-sea” option—flying to Hong Kong with China Airlines first and returning on the cruise. Departures are possible from all over northern, central, and southern Taiwan, including Keelung, Taichung, and Kaohsiung.

Under this special offer, the “First Sailing Value Deal,” two limited sailings departing from Hong Kong to Kaohsiung on April 7 and 9 offer a three-day-two-night sea-air package starting from just NT$9,900 (excluding tax, original price NT$13,900), and a four-day-three-night package starting from NT$11,900 (excluding tax, original price NT$15,900). The price includes a one-way China Airlines flight, one night of accommodation on the cruise, and one or two nights at a hotel in Hong Kong.

Additionally, the first 88 travelers born under the Virgo constellation who sign up will receive a free one-way cabin stay on the SuperStar Virgo for the Hong Kong–Taiwan (or Taiwan–Hong Kong) route. On their next trip to Hong Kong or return to Taiwan, they can enjoy a complimentary cruise and experience the ship’s rich amenities and travel fun.

Furthermore, the four-day-three-night Sanya–Ha Long Bay itinerary departing from Hong Kong starts from just NT$18,800 (excluding tax, excluding Taiwan–Hong Kong airfare). To reward returning guests, Star Cruises is offering a “Buy One Get One Free” deal on the Hong Kong–Sanya–Ha Long Bay route for those who provide proof of previous travel on the SuperStar Virgo, such as a cruise card or photos (regardless of time or location). This promotion is valid from March 6 to 18.

The SuperStar Virgo, with a displacement of 75,338 tons, is the flagship vessel in Star Cruises’ Asian fleet. It has 13 decks in total and is staffed by over 1,300 professional service personnel. The ship features 12 restaurants and bars, serving a diverse selection of East-West cuisine, and has invited a German executive chef on board to ensure fine dining. Star Cruises’ professional entertainment team and shows include the newly launched “Stone of Atlantis,” performances by Chinese Shaolin kung fu masters, a violinist from Alaska, USA, an acrobatic troupe from Europe, and more. Among them, Europe’s top magician Vincent Vignaud will headline the magic show “Magic,” combining music, dance, and stage effects. These spectacular performances are sure to leave a lasting impression on travelers.

In Hong Kong, the Tsim Sha Tsui Ferry Terminal where the SuperStar Virgo docks is right next to Harbour City, the city’s largest shopping mall. Passengers can head straight to the mall for shopping after disembarking, or walk to nearby attractions such as the former Marine Police Headquarters (1881 Heritage), the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, the Avenue of Stars, and the Star Ferry Pier. The area offers a seamless blend of 24/7 food, fun, and entertainment. Additionally, the Hong Kong Tourism Board recommends that cruise travelers take the ding-ding tram—especially fitting in this, the 110th anniversary year of the tram. Riding the ding-ding tram is a wonderful way to savor the charm of Hong Kong, from sampling hidden local delicacies in the alleys of Sheung Wan and Sai Wan, admiring the modern skyscrapers in Central and Admiralty, exploring trendy boutiques in old buildings in Wan Chai, enjoying afternoon tea at the historic Wo Cheong Pawn, seeking out street food known only to locals in North Point, to dining at fashionable open-air restaurants along the Lei King Wan waterfront. A single ding-ding tram ride offers a journey through Hong Kong’s blend of past and present, East and West.
