Do you not only want to stroll through seas of blooming flowers during the floral season but also take some beautiful blooms home? The New Taipei City High Ground Engineering Management Office planted large areas of cosmos in “Sunshine Sports Park” and “Happy Ripple Park” before the Lunar New Year. With the flowers in full bloom and breathtakingly beautiful, and as the cosmos blooming period nears its end, the office is aiming to maximize public benefit and enhance the festive mood among residents. Starting now, the public is welcome to bring their own gardening tools and dress up as gardeners to visit “Sunshine Sports Park” and “Happy Ripple Park.” There, they can personally select their favorite flowers to “take home,” allowing these lovely blooms to continue accompanying people and bringing a unique warmth to family homes.

It is expected that in early March, the New Taipei City High Ground Engineering Management Office will re-till the park grounds. After mixing, these cosmos flowers will turn into green manure, becoming nutrient-rich soil to nourish future flowers and return to nature, injecting new energy for the next bloom and continuing the cycle of nature. The New Taipei City Office reminds the public to be mindful of their own safety and that of other visitors when using sharp tools such as scissors. Additionally, as cosmos plants grow densely, small animals or insects such as bees may hide within them, so visitors should be cautious while picking flowers.
