The beauty of Penghu’s bays has taken the international stage by storm. At 11:00 AM on March 7th, German time (Berlin time), Penghu County Magistrate Wang Gan-fa, accompanied by Ambassador Chen Hua-yu of the Taipei Representative Office in Germany, President Lai Seh-chen of the Taiwan Visitors Association, and others, received the certificate on behalf of Penghu Bay, Taiwan, from Galip Gur, Chairman of the "Most Beautiful Bays in the World" organization, officially becoming a member of this international body.

The "Most Beautiful Bays in the World" (The Most Beautiful Bays in the World) organization is an NGO composed of some of the world’s most stunning bay regions. Established in 1997 by Jean Manquat, its headquarters are located in Vannes, central France. The organization is dedicated to promoting the protection of global bays’ natural and cultural resources. It currently has 39 bay areas across 30 countries as members, including the San Francisco Bay in the United States, Qingdao Bay in mainland China, and Ha Long Bay in Vietnam.

Penghu County has garnered significant attention from the organization due to its long-term commitment to protecting the natural resources and environment of its bays. The unique marine geological landscapes and rich cultural history of the Penghu Archipelago have created a distinctive bay identity that left a deep impression on other member countries. Magistrate Wang Gan-fa stated that becoming a member of the Most Beautiful Bays in the World organization marks a significant step for Penghu onto the global stage. Not only will it enable extensive exchanges and cooperation with other bay areas on topics such as marine environment management and preservation of cultural heritage, but it also presents a great opportunity for the world to see the beauty of Penghu.
