The King Cherry Blossom at Alishan is 80% in bloom—Check the latest floral conditions in real time via the APP

 

Since 2012 (101 in the ROC calendar), the Chiayi Forest Management Office has been promoting forest literature, inviting contemporary poets to write about Alishan and carving poems into stone tablets using materials such as basalt to create the “Zhaoping Park Poetry Trail.” The office especially recommends flower viewers to stroll through Zhaoping Park and experience the beauty of Alishan’s flowers, landscapes, and ecology through poetic words. For those wishing to enjoy a leisurely park tour, they can also visit the Zhushan Alpine Botanical Garden to appreciate the travel photography works of Mr. Wen Yaohsing, spending a relaxing afternoon in an artistic atmosphere. Visitors looking to enjoy outdoor music can head to the King Cherry Blossom Platform on the mornings of March 17, 24, and 31 to enjoy elegant melodies. Tourists should also take advantage of the flower seasonlimited Zhetaping (Zhetaping) line train services every Wednesday (March 19, 26, and April 2, 9)to capture classic scenes of steam trains weaving through flowers and treetops.

 

Visitors planning to take Class A or B large buses up the mountain and into the park must apply for entry in advance via the Alishan Group Tourist Diversion Reservation website. Those planning to visit Alishan during flower festival holidays before the end of March should also pay attention to the traffic control measures for Alishan Flower Season issued by the Directorate General of Highways, Ministry of Transportation and Communications.
