Japanese cuisine offers a wide variety, and authentic udon noodles—whether a steaming bowl of hot soup udon in winter or a refreshing cold udon in summer—are sure to whet anyone's appetite. Now, you can enjoy the authentic taste of traditional Japanese udon without going abroad. The century-old Japanese brand "Yoko Seimenjo," exclusively introduced by Taipei Main Station Fashion Plaza, will officially open today (the 2nd) in the B3 Food Court of Taipei Main Station. To celebrate the opening, from now until April 6, the first 50 customers each day will receive a free soup udon voucher.

The udon specialty store "Yoko Seimenjo" under the Kagayaki brand originated in Meiji 10 (1877 AD). This historic shop, with a legacy of 137 years, is making its first foray into Taiwan, offering high-quality ingredients at affordable prices to capture the local market. Kagayaki Co., Ltd. operates various types of dining businesses, including udon shops, Japanese restaurants, casual washoku eateries, and Western-style izakayas. Among them, the udon specialty store "Yoko Seimenjo" is featured as the backdrop of a udon shop in the novel of Japanese Meiji-era literary master Izumi Kyoka. To this day, the flagship store in Japan continues to preserve the ambiance of a Meiji-era udon shop. Having passed down to the fourth generation, Yoko Seimenjo has expanded from a street-front shop to department store locations. It currently has branches in China and Thailand and officially entered the Taiwanese market in 2014, with plans to open over 10 branches within two years.

Taipei Main Station Fashion Plaza exclusively introduces "Yoko Seimenjo." Japanese chefs adhere to traditional flavors to deliver an authentic experience. To provide the delicious taste of freshly made kama-age udon, the in-store udon artisans handcraft fresh udon noodles daily, cooking them in large kettles on-site. They also prepare flavorful and varied Japanese onigiri and inarizushi, along with a variety of crispy tempura with thin, crunchy coatings. Multiple udon options are available, with the soup udon, pork bone udon, beef hot spring egg thick soup udon, and mentaiko egg mixed warm udon being the most popular. At incredibly affordable prices—soup udon starting at NT$69, rice at NT$79, onigiri at NT$35, and fried items at NT$25—you can experience a new style of udon specialty shop and enjoy truly traditional flavors with a century-long heritage.
