The Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications organized the “2014 Taiwan Summer Solstice 235” Creative Tapioca Challenge, in which the public voted for 10 creative tapioca desserts recommended by scenic area management offices and counties/cities along the Tropic of Cancer. After intense expert judging and over 60,000 online votes, the Osmanthus Pineapple Tapioca from FoDu in Tainan not only received the highest number of online votes (10,821) but also won the favor of the expert judges to claim the overall championship.

The “Boss Catering Consultant Co., Ltd. (FoDu Tapioca),” recommended by Tainan City Tourism Bureau to participate in the Creative Tapioca Challenge, emphasized that all ingredients are natural and hand-washed tapioca. For the championship-winning Osmanthus Pineapple Tapioca, Taiwanese summer seasonal fruit—Guandu pineapple—is blended into the tapioca along with a hint of osmanthus fragrance. It’s both refreshing and thirst-quenching, with a sweet and tangy flavor that captures the essence of Taiwan’s delicious taste, making it the perfect cooling treat for the hot summer. During the voting period, the tourism bureau encouraged the public to vote for Tainan participating shops by not only linking to the event website via their official portal but also adding a special promotion on the Tainan Travel Facebook page: vote for Tainan shops and enter to win one of two iPad minis. The lucky winners will be announced on the fan page.

In addition, to celebrate the victory and thank supporters, FoDu Tapioca in Tainan is offering a limited-time promotion: buy one get one free on Osmanthus Pineapple Tapioca at their You’ai Street store on June 20 (Friday). Everyone is welcome to come and taste the championship-winning creative tapioca.
