Just after the Christmas peak season, the Hong Kong Tourism Board has launched a new initiative in collaboration with popular illustrator Duncan and Mr. HH, featuring the high-profile illustrated characters Duncan and Meimei in the “Hong Kong Foodie” video series to recommend authentic local Hong Kong delicacies and invite everyone to come to Hong Kong for a taste. To attract travelers during the pre-New Year off-peak season, the Hong Kong Tourism Board has also partnered with multiple airlines and booking platforms to offer special deals, allowing you to save money and enjoy Hong Kong’s delicious food with Duncan and Meimei, as well as visit the brand-new Hong Kong landmark – the Big Wheel!

For the first time, the Hong Kong Tourism Board has invited the extremely popular illustrated characters Duncan and Meimei to collaborate as foodies, using a humorous and entertaining approach to introduce dim sum, cart noodle soup, crispy roast pork, beef offal, chili crab, and dessert mango pomelo sago. The truly delicious local Hong Kong cuisine made these two foodies, Duncan and Meimei, reluctant to leave Hong Kong. The video quickly surpassed 50,000 views shortly after its release.

In addition to local delicacies, the latest edition of the 2015 Hong Kong Michelin Guide has also been published, featuring five three-star restaurants, fourteen two-star restaurants, and forty-five one-star restaurants. Hong Kong is one of the world’s most affordable gourmet cities, and in 2015, two humble roast meat-focused eateries were also awarded one-star status: Yat Lok Roast Goose and Kam’s Roast Goose. Travelers are welcome to come and try these Hong Kong delights!

Additionally, the latest landmark on Victoria Harbour, the Hong Kong Observation Wheel, has finally opened. Standing at the Central Harbourfront Pier, the wheel offers visitors a brand-new and unique perspective to admire the dazzling day and night views of Victoria Harbour. The 60-meter-tall wheel has 42 gondolas, each capable of carrying eight passengers, with each ride lasting about 15–20 minutes. Adult tickets are HK$100, while seniors and children pay HK$70. It has already become a must-visit attraction for those traveling to Hong Kong.

Central Harbourfront Pier has been bustling this winter. In addition to the Ferris wheel, a traveling theme park that’s very popular in Europe has also made its grand debut at the pier. The “Europa Park Carnival” event, which runs for 62 days until February 22, includes an outdoor ice rink, 28 game stalls, 50 market stalls, and 24 food stalls — everything you could want for a fulfilling experience. Of course, it also features the most popular rides, street performers, and acrobatic shows.
