Cherry blossom viewing in early spring has become a popular leisure activity across Taiwan in recent years. Among the various cherry blossom spots in the country, if you’re looking for a location with open, beautiful, and flat terrain that’s convenient for visitors of all ages, the top recommendation is the cherry blossom grove at National Chi Nan University. Covering an area of 150 hectares, the campus is surrounded by green mountains and blue skies. On the vast 20-hectare lawn, thousands of Taiwan mountain cherry trees and Japanese double-flowered cherry blossoms have begun to bloom beautifully, creating the illusion of stepping into a hidden paradise of flowers.

The Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area Administration, National Chi Nan University, and the Dapuli Area Tourism Development Association once again held a cherry blossom event combining “cherry blossoms” and “Chinese tea ceremony” from February 1st to February 20th, 2015 (lunar calendar around Chinese New Year), at the university’s cherry blossom grove. Domestic and international visitors are invited to “enjoy fine tea and admire cherry blossoms” under the thousand cherry trees, and spend a romantic and colorful warm afternoon.

On February 7th (Saturday), the “Flower Appreciation and Tea Ceremony” event will feature high mountain tea from Ren’ai Township, black tea from Yuchi Township, and Dong Ding oolong tea from Lugu Township as the main teas for tasting. Grand tea ceremonies will be held in the morning and afternoon, with 200 participants accepted per session. The fee is 300 NTD per person, and participants will receive a set of cherry blossom commemorative tea cups (including one aroma cup and one tasting cup each). You can also experience tea tasting hosted by professional tea masters along with musical performances. Join us for a leisurely afternoon under the cherry blossoms, savoring the beauty of flowers and tea this season.
