The 2015 Xinyi Cherry Blossom Festival kicks off—Cherry, Peach, and Plum blossoms compete in a riot of color

After the plum blossoms gradually fade, the pink-hued cherry blossom season follows. The 2015 Nantou County Xinyi Township Cherry Blossom Festival began on January 22 at Caopingtou–Yushan Sightseeing Tea Garden. During the event, the emerald-green tea fields are lined with a profusion of pink-hued cherry blossoms, while snow-white plum blossoms also bloom in competition, transforming Caopingtou into a secluded mountain paradise akin to a hidden Shangri-La.

Located in Xinyi Township, Caopingtou sits at an altitude of 1,300 meters and spans 48 hectares. Local residents have planted over 3,000 cherry blossom trees, creating a stunning cherry blossom tunnel. In addition to the budding cherry blossoms, peach and plum blossoms also bloom in succession, adding vibrant colors to the upcoming Lunar New Year. Residents have also planted cosmos and rapeseed flowers among the tea fields, which have recently begun to bloom as well, complementing the cherry, peach, and plum blossoms. Visitors can leisurely stroll through the tea fields, enjoying the beautiful scenery of the tea-growing countryside and the refreshing floral fragrance, welcoming the New Year with joy.
