With the arrival of spring, the hills of the North Coast are covered in white trumpets, heralding the symphony of the season. Every year from April to May, the cliffside lilies between Shimen and Jinshan on the North Coast burst into bloom. Vast stretches of native Taiwanese white lilies cover the hillsides, with bursts of floral fragrance wafting through the air. Paired with the azure sea view and the Fugui Cape Lighthouse, the expansive scenery is truly uplifting.

Over the past decade, the North Coast National Scenic Area Administration has continuously worked to restore and cultivate native Taiwanese lilies in the Shimen-Jinshan area to enhance the region’s distinctive landscape charm. The months of April and May are when the blooms are at their most stunning. Generally, there are two prime times to admire wild lilies on the North Coast: before the end of May, visitors are advised to head to Shimen’s Baishawan and Lingshanbi, as well as the Fugui Cape Lighthouse Trail, while after May, the Lion Head Mountain, Shuiwei, and Fagushan areas in Jinshan are recommended.
