With a series of private retreats and the concept of hidden paradises, Aman Resorts has, since its first hotel in 1988 — the Amanpuri (meaning “Place of Peace”) on Thailand’s Phuket Island, grown to operate 32 hotels across 20 countries and regions, with 9 more under construction. In 2020, Aman also introduced a brand-new hotel brand, “Janu.”

Aman Hotels launched its sister brand, Janu, in 2020.

The word “Aman” means “peace” in Sanskrit, while its sister brand “Janu” means “soul” in the same language. Janu places genuine human connection, playful expression, and social well-being at the core of the hospitality experience. While Aman represents seclusion, Janu brings connection; Aman offers tranquil and refined sanctuaries, whereas Janu provides a vibrant atmosphere for travelers seeking inner fulfillment.

“Connection” is the core of Janu hotels.

Janu has announced three hotels currently under construction — located in Montenegro (2022), AlUla, Saudi Arabia (2022), and Tokyo (2022) — along with plans for many more in the future. Janu’s design fuses contemporary style with timeless elegance, focusing on space and light. The refined guest rooms and spacious bathrooms create an uplifting ambiance, complemented by dining, leisure, and bar areas, open kitchens, and lively countertop displays.

Unlike the privacy, attentive service, and refined environments that define Aman, Janu focuses on social wellness activities for the body, mind, and spirit — building on that tradition. It offers vibrant group classes, cutting-edge treatments and experiences, state-of-the-art equipment, and a full range of hydrotherapy and thermal facilities, all designed not only to strengthen the body but also to soothe the mind.

Janu doesn’t just offer a way of life — it presents a life enriched by like-minded companions and shared experiences. Even if guests stay for just a few nights, Janu aims to make them feel richer and more fulfilled through the presence and energy of others. “Connection” is Janu’s purpose.
