The Moomin-themed café “Moomin House Cafe” at Tokyo Skytree’s Solamachi area has reopened at the end of April after renovations to mark its third anniversary. The revamp primarily focused on adjusting the space and interior design to offer Moomin fans an even better dining experience.

There are currently three Moomin cafés in Japan: the Skytree store in Tokyo, the Tokyo Dome store, and the Hakata store. The Skytree location is the most popular among foreign visitors. This renovation has expanded the seating area to approximately 18 tsubo (about 60 square meters), with seating capacity increased to 14, making the dining environment more spacious and comfortable.

Most excitingly, the menu at the Skytree store has also been updated alongside the reopening. Fans can enjoy the “Moomin House Pancake,” which was a hit at the Hong Kong Moomin Café. This pancake is Moominmamma’s signature dish—soft and fluffy, made with rich milk—and can be enjoyed with whipped cream and crème brûlée for a luxurious treat. Lastly, you can choose one of five ceramic figurines displayed with the pancakes to take home.
