According to recent forecasts from the Central Weather Bureau, from March 10 to 12, 2020 (Tuesday to Thursday), the section of Minzu Road in Chiayi City (west of Wenhua Road) will offer a view of the Manhattanhenge phenomenon in the evening, provided there are no clouds.
 
Best times to view the Manhattanhenge are as follows:
3/10  17:44-18:04
3/11   17:40-18:00
3/12   17:36-17:56

In the absence of cloud cover, the period of about 10 minutes before and after the sun aligns centrally over the street is ideal for viewing the Manhattanhenge. When watching the phenomenon, be sure to wear dark-tinted sunglasses to protect your eyes from the intense light, and pay extra attention to traffic order and personal safety.

Additionally, the Central Weather Bureau is holding its first-ever Manhattanhenge check-in competition. By using the “Central Weather Bureau W-Life Weather” app and its check-in and weather reporting feature, participants can take and submit photos that meet the definition of Manhattanhenge. Simply check in, leave a comment mentioning “Manhattanhenge,” and successfully upload your photo to join the contest.
