As spring arrives and many floral seasons begin to flourish, the calla lilies on Taipei’s Yangmingshan Mountain have bloomed ahead of schedule. The vast expanse of snow-white blooms, coupled with the misty mountain air, creates an ethereal and dreamlike scene.

The white calla lilies of Zhuzihu account for 80 to 90 percent of Taiwan’s total calla lily production. Their romantic atmosphere during the peak blooming season from February to May attracts numerous travelers to the fields to experience the joy of picking and take stunning photos of the flower seas.

Zhuzihu enjoys uniquely favorable climatic conditions, making it the ideal environment for growing calla lilies. The calla lily season in Yangmingshan’s Zhuzihu typically runs from early March to the end of May. This year’s calla lily festival is scheduled from March 27 to June 21—plan your flower-viewing mountain trip while the blooms are at their best.
